A development economist. She has in its portfolio a wide range of publications on issues related to development policies, in particular, poverty, gender, technology and development of abilities and agriculture. The most recognizable for her work as Director and lead author of the Human Development Reports (1995-2004) and cooperation with the United Nations. Development Program (UNDP). She sits on the advisory board of Academics Stand Against Poverty (ASAP), is a member of the UN in matters of development policy, participates on the board of the International Association of Feminist Economics, In the Center of Economics Rights and Social Sciences and the NGO: Knowledge Ecology International.
Biography
SakikoFukuda-Parr was born in 1950 in the Japanese Tokyo. Gained the opportunity to develop by moving from Tokyo to London, then Washington, and eventually settled in Manila. Fukuda-Parr contributed to human development, culture and foreign affairs at universities Cambridge (undergraduate studies in the field of social and political sciences), Sussex (Master's Degree in Economics) and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Master's Degree in Law and Diplomacy).
Sakiko Fukuda-Parr began her career working at the World Bank in the years 1974 - 1979, then took work as Technical Consultant in the field of agricultural economics in the United Nations. Development Program (1979-1985) Subsequently, as a Deputy Resident Representative in Burundi (1985-1987), Chief Economist and Deputy Director of Regional Affairs Office for Africa (1986-1991), Director of the Department for West Africa (1992-1994), and Executive Director for Human Development Report (1995-2004). Since 2004 years Fukuda-Parr works as professor at Columbia University, Harvard University and The New School for Social Research.
