Technology research is always associated with the production process or the provision of services. These are the last stage of R&D processes during development works, and are the first stage of commercialization. The main task is to acquire new knowledge and skills necessary to practical and cost effective use of new technology. Technology research leads to the improvement of products, services and processes already on the market and to the creation of new, innovative products. Technology research is used to check and assess whether a given type of technology is useful on the market, to what extent and what improvements can be made. Technology research include:

  • production processes planning
  • designing new or improved products
  • creating and designing processes and services

Goals of technology research

Technology research is a systematic and objective investigation of various aspects of technology in order to understand, predict, and improve its performance and potential. The goals of technology research can vary depending on the specific research project, but some common goals include:

  • Developing new technologies: One of the main goals of technology research is to develop new technologies that can improve the performance and capabilities of existing systems, or create new products, services, and industries.
  • Improving existing technologies: Technology research can also be used to improve the performance and reliability of existing technologies, by identifying and addressing problems and limitations.
  • Identifying new applications: Technology research can be used to identify new applications for existing technologies, or to explore the potential of emerging technologies for new products and services.
  • Reducing costs: Technology research can be used to reduce the costs of developing and producing new technologies, by identifying and addressing inefficiencies and bottlenecks in the production process.
  • Enhancing performance: Technology research can be used to enhance the performance of existing technologies, by identifying and addressing limitations and problems in their design or operation.
  • Meeting regulatory requirements: Technology research can be used to ensure that new technologies comply with regulatory requirements, by identifying and addressing potential safety, environmental, and legal issues.
  • Creating intellectual property: Technology research can be used to create new intellectual property, such as patents, trademarks, and copyrights, which can be used to protect and commercialize new technologies.
  • Improving society: Technology research can be used to improve the lives of people, by creating new products, services, and systems that can solve problems, improve health and well-being, and enhance quality of life.
